Here are the installation steps:1. No need to remove tailgate, a right angle mini ratchet with T 40 socket was able to get between light housing and tailgate to remove tailgate t40 screw. ( I used a hole pipe for leverage to break bolt loose) Install provided piston lug.2. 2 types of piston lugs supplied. Full threaded goes on tail gate. One with space then threads goes on body of truck.3. reinstall cable ensuring lug with pacer , attach cable , attach piston to top first, lift it all gate attach bottom of piston and put c clamps on4. If using two pistons, like I did, repeat process.5. Tailgate opens with ease, no slamming. Closes with ease.
